Srinagar, December 26 (KNO) : Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday termed Kashmir as root cause of prevailing uncertainty in south Asia and said the stubborn and haughty approach of Indian rulers is root cause of prevailing situations. He expressed concern over the prevailing “horrendous situations” in the state, saying that unabated state-sponsored violence, arrests, intimidations and killings will further deteriorated the situation. Paying glowing tributes to slain youth In Karnabal Sambora encounter, Syed Ali Geelani said that state people are facing extreme situations and added that during and after these encounters, the civilian’s populations are subjected to arbitrary measures and un-proportionate military might. Blaming India for not being sincere in resolving the Kashmir issue, Syed Ali Geelani said that they are creating year 90 like situations and added that it was their stubborn and haughty approach that had turned the subcontinent into a slaughterhouse. He said despite their pressure tactics, “they couldn’t break our resolve and people had pursued the right to self-determination”. Stressing for resolution of Kashmir issue in its historical perspective, Syed Ali Geelani said that instead of this it is imperative India, despite employing these undemocratic means should consider Kashmir's conflicting status and work for its durable solution, asserted Geelani and added it is the only means that we can save South Asia from horrors and devastation created by dreadful wars. Meanwhile on the directions of Syed Ali Geelani, a high-level delegation led by Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Rameez Raja ,Mukhtar Ahmad and Jasif Ahmad, visited Tral and paid tributes to Shaheed commander Noor u Din. Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday welcomed Asiya Andrabi and Sofi Fehmeda’s release and pledged to carry forward "struggle”, Hailing her role, Geelani said that Asiya Andrabi is a living example that no torture, no hanging or detention can cow down our sentiments. Her release will give an impetus to our struggle," said Geelani, while demanding release of all prisoners in and outside the state, who, have been falsely implicated. Rejecting the haughty approach of New Delhi, Syed Ali Geelani said that resistance leadership is being unnecessarily caged and political space denied, saying it is contrary to human righties charter, formulated and recognised by international community.(KNO)
